Consultation has concluded

It has been brought to Council’s attention that a number of parents and members of the public do U-turns in front of Sacred Heart Primary School by crossing over the double dividing line to avoid leaving Cardinal Street and turning left onto Military Road. The majority of the U-turns are happening in the section of Cardinal Street between the Children’s Crossing and Military Road.

The School has suggested the placement of a barrier to ensure that U-turns are not able to be performed in Cardinal Street in front of the school.

On 9 November 2021 the Local Traffic Committee considered a report on this matter and resolved that the proposal to install flexible traffic separators or a concrete median island on Cardinal Street in front of the Sacred Heart Primary School be advertised for community feedback; and the outcome of the community consultation be reported to the next available Local Traffic Committee meeting. The report and the meeting minutes are available on Council's website.
