Consultation has concluded

Approximately 31% of Mosman’s population is aged 55 years or over, and this is forecast to increase to 33.3% by 2036. This brings opportunities and challenges that will require Mosman Council and the local community to work together, to support older residents in leading active, healthy, and engaged lives.

Council is seeking input from residents aged 55 years or over, and other interested community members, to help identify the best ways to do this. We recognise that many community members have valuable views and opinions around ageing, and a contribution to make to these plans.

Please complete this brief survey, and encourage your family members, friends, and neighbours to do the same. It is based on a framework developed by the World Health Organisation on Age-Friendly Cities and Communities, and explores issues such as outdoor spaces, transport, housing, social participation, respect and inclusion, civic participation and employment, communication and information, and community and health services.

The survey is also available in a printed version from Mosman Square Seniors Centre and Barry O’Keefe Library.

Residents aged 55 years or over, and other interested members of the community, are also invited to participate in a consultation workshop at 11.30am-2pm on Thursday 5 March at Mosman Square Seniors Centre. Light lunch will be provided. Book online here or by calling 9978 4128.

Surveys must be received by Friday 3 April 2020
