Consultation has concluded

Council, at the request of residents, installs line markings on either side of the driveway to provide a visual reminder to drivers that a driveway exists. These lines carry no legal meaning but assist in orderly parking in most locations. Currently, Council does not charge a fee for this service.

Council is considering a proposal to recoup the cost of installing the driveway lines.

On 1 September 2020 Council considered a report on this matter and resolved to proceed with the public notice process of the proposed fee of $165 per driveway lines or remarking of the existing driveway lines for at least 28 days. The resolution of this agenda item is available on Council's website at https://mosman.nsw.gov.au/council/meetings/agendas-and-minutes-2020/.

Rangers or NSW Police can enforce vehicles parked across the driveway with or without lines under the Road Rule 198. Hence, the installation of driveway lines is merely a reminder to drivers about the existence of the driveway.

Submissions will be received until 30 October 2020.
