Council is proposing to close a Council public road that adjoins 61 Parriwi Road, Mosman (Lot 1 DP 593701) in order to facilitate the occupation of the road by structures approved as part of development application 8.2023.332.1 including an elevated crossover, stairs, paved landing, barrier walls and landscaping across the full frontage of the adjoining the property. The structures will replace the existing garage, stairs and landscaping currently occupying the road reserve under a Section 138 Roads Act consent. Upon closure of the road Council intends to sell the land to the owner of 61 Parriwi Road.
The Council public road proposed for closure is identified and highlighted in the survey,plans, photos and aerialphoto attached. The report attached considered by Council at its meeting on 5 May 2026 provides full details of the proposal and application. The Council resolved to adopt the officer's recommendation to proceed with the application. This notification is being made in accordance with Section 38B of the NSWRoads Act 1993. Who knows about the proposal?
Council has forwarded notifications to adjoining land owners, notifiable authorities and any other land owners considered to be affected by the proposal. Council has also arranged publication of a notification to close the road to appear in the Mosman Daily in the public notices section.
What should you do now?
Any person is entitled to make submissions to Council with respect to the closing of the road.
If you wish to make a submission please do so below by Thursday 2 July 2026.
What happens next?
Council will decide whether the road is suitable for closure after considering all duly made submissions.
