Mosman Council has endorsed the community consultation process to identify a new, more inclusive name for the Mosman Square Seniors Centre.
Renaming the Centre will support its repositioning as a vibrant, mixed-use community hub that continues to deliver valued seniors' programs while expanding its appeal and accessibility to the broader Mosman community.
The focus on Seniors and the integrity and quality of current seniors’ programs will be retained. In addition, the Centre will expand its use during evenings and weekends to offer additional classes and programs for the wider community.
This consultation gives all residents the opportunity to share ideas and provide feedback on a new name for the Centre. Your input is important, and we invite you to help shape the new identity for the future of this welcoming and dynamic community space.
Criteria:
The name should:
reflect inclusivity and local connections
have an intergenerational appeal
not include discriminatory terms such as age or gender specific terms
not include any person’s name or personal names

Submissions close Monday 9 February 2026 5:00pm. At the end of the community consultation period, all submissions received will be reviewed and the shortlist will be presented to Council for endorsement.
