Development Application 8.2023.188.1 lodged by the owner of 59 Parriwi Road aims to consolidate a proposal for a double hardstand area over part of the road reserve adjacent both 57A and 59 Parriwi Road. Under the Roads Act 1993 Council may not grant consent to a property owner to occupy road reserve that is not directly adjacent to the property. A separate consent to each of the properties is therefore required. On 15 August 2013 Council granted consent under Sections 138/139 of the Roads Act 1993 for structures including a car hardstand on Council's road reserve directly adjacent 59 Parriwi Road. The owner of 57A Parriwi Road is now required to obtain consent for the structure on the road reserve adjacent that property as a condition of the development consent.
