Consultation has concluded

The Mosman community has strongly opposed amalgamations of any kind both historically and in polling over the last six months.

The NSW Government has indicated that it proposes to amalgamate local councils in metropolitan Sydney and has also asked councils to provide up to three merger preferences by 18 November 2015.

Mosman Council has again been engaging its community in the lead-up to the deadline prior to formally determining its response to the NSWGovernment.

Close to 300 residents attended a public meeting on 26 October 2015 to show their continued support for Mosman’s independence. A survey regarding potential amalgamations was also conducted between 26 October and 3 November; the results of which will be available on this website soon.

Council will determine its response to the NSW Government at its meeting of 10 November 2015.
