Raglan Street Traffic Calming Devices
Project Background
The Federal Government Black Spot Funding is an initiative to improve the conditions or management of recorded and potential locations of casualty crashes. On behalf of the Federal Government, Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW) administers the Black Spot Funding program.
Based on the recorded crashes and analysis, Raglan Street met the eligibility criteria for Black Spot Program funding. As a result, Council received funding to implement identified safety improvement measures along Raglan Street between The Esplanade and Clanalpine Street.
The proposed traffic calming treatments are subject to community consultation and subsequent approval from the Local Traffic Committee. The proposed treatments are listed below and can be seen in the PDF documents in the Documents panel of this page:
Proposed Treatments
Plan 1 - C1401 Install a pedestrian refuge and a stop line at the intersection of Raglan Street and Clanalpine Street. This will result in the removal of two on-street parking spaces.
Plan 2 - C1402 Install a raised speed hump with kerb islands on Raglan Street north of Calypso Avenue, outside No. 126. This will result in the removal of two on-street parking spaces.
Plan 3 – C1403 Install speed cushions on all four roundabout arms at the intersection of Raglan Street and Queen Street.
Plan 4 – C1404 Install a raised platform at the intersection of Raglan Street and Milner Street.
Plan 5 – C1405 Install edge and median line markings on Raglan Street after Cullen Avenue.
Plan 6 - C1406 Install edge and median line markings on Raglan Street outside No.200.
Plan 7 - C1407 Install kerb islands and road markings on Raglan Street opposite No. 204.
Plan 8 - C1408 Install edge and median line markings on Raglan Street opposite No. 212.
Plan 9 - C1409 Install edge and median line markings on Raglan Street opposite No. 220.
Plan 10 - C1410 Install central island and associated road markings at the intersection of Raglan Street and Balmoral Avenue.
Plan 11- C1411 Install edge and median line markings on Raglan Street opposite No. 217.
Plan 12 – C1412 Install edge and median line markings at the intersection of Raglan Street and Esther Road.
Plan 13 – C1413 Install kerb island and medial island and associated road markings on Raglan Street opposite No. 242. This will result in the removal of one on-street parking spaces.
Plan 14 - C1414 Install edge and median line markings on Raglan Street opposite No. 246.
Plan 15 - C1415 Install edge and median line markings on Raglan Street opposite No. 252.
Mosman Council is seeking feedback on the above proposed traffic calming devices along Raglan Street.
Next Step
A report of this matter will be submitted to the Local Traffic Committee and/or Council for further consideration. All feedback will be considered, however it is not intended to reply to individual respondents.
